A bit about us and our journey from a small chocolate shop to Waterford's favourite cafe.
Our Story
Carter's Chocolate Cafe opened as The Chocolate Shop in 2010 in the heart of Waterford City, in the South-East of Ireland. Opening during a recession, the plan was to sell chocolates and hot chocolate and see how the Christmas Season went.
With Valentine's and Easter getting busy, people kept asking for coffee, and so the Cafe was born! We started squeezing lemons and started making our own lemonade which became so popular, we had to start bottling.
Eventually, our lemonade won a Gold award at Blas na hEireann - the annual Irish Food Awards! We're incredibly proud of this achievement and continue to make every bottle with the same care and attention.
Carter's Chocolate Cafe has gone from strength to strength and celebrated 10 years in business in 2020 after building a loyal customer base, and always having a team of wonderful staff.
